The origin of this vine is probably Dalmatian. In the past it was spread all over Puglia. Now the best area for Susumaniello is located between Brindisi and Taranto.
Characteristics of the grape variety
The grape is small sized, with a dark blue skin, and a rich pruinosity. It has an average strength and it is ready in the first half of September.
